The Paul Caseau Thesis Prize was created in 2012 by the Academy of Technologies and EDF, in memory of Paul Caseau, a founding member of the Academy of Technologies and former Director of Studies and Research at EDF. The prize is also supported by the Institut de France and the Academy of Sciences.
Every year, this prize is awarded to three young researchers who have recently defended their doctoral thesis. The prize recognizes work of outstanding scientific quality, distinguished by the originality of its ideas or approach, as well as by its potential for industrial application.
This year, Nathan Lichtlé received the prize in the field of decarbonization of the economy for his thesis, carried out at CERMICS and UC Berkeley under the supervision of Amaury Hayat and Alexandre Bayen.
